Tou could also run the cylinder all the way one way to check the seals while having the other hose off. It will make a mess but tell you alot. Lift the lock ring out of its slot with a screwdriver, then rotate the rod end guide with a spanner wrench until it faces the same direction as the end of the lock ring. Sadly there is no easy way of doing it, access is not good, you just need to try and squeeze in there. The upper cylinder hoses are already disconnected and the cylinder is already out!
